We are proud that 81 percent of our budget is directed to program services, helping to advance the dignity of children all over the world. Only 19 percent is directed to fundraising and general administration. This is well below the national average of 25 percent for such expenses.

We exceed industry standards
We earn top marks from agencies that monitor the activities of nonprofit organizations. For seven years in a row, we have received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, meaning we outperform most charities in our field.

We keep our costs low
For fiscal year 2010–2011, 81 percent of our total spending went directly to program activities. The remaining 19 percent covered general, administrative, and fundraising costs.

This year marks The Global Fund for Children’s 16th year of investing in innovation and changing children’s lives.

Highlights from the last fiscal year:

  • We invested in 324 organizations in 72 countries through 616 grants valued at $3.8 million.
  • We leveraged more than $723,000 in additional funds for our grantee partners.
  • We awarded $500,000 in Sustainability Awards to 30 outstanding organizations.
  • Despite challenges posed by the global economic recession, our fundraising reached $9.7 million last year, a 55 percent increase over the prior year, and our financial position is strong.
